Our Facility

SpaFIT is a SAFE, CLEAN exercise facility with everything you need to achieve your goals to a healthy lifestyle.  We know that working-out is an essential part of life, so we provide a warm, comfortable setting in which to make your life better.

All of our staff is filtered during interviews to ensure we employ the finest as well as genuine smiling faces.  We are a gym like others, however with our added charisma and personal attention we will make your workout challenging and more effective.  You will find top of the line equipment, including True Cardio, Star Trac, Free Motion, Nautilus, Hoist, and more.

For optimal convenience, we are open for our gym members EVERYDAY of the year from at 4 a.m. to Midnight, including Holidays.  For those who don’t have extra time, feel free to use our Bathroom/Showers.  We have available Hand Towels, Bath Towels, Shampoos, Soaps, and Dryers in each room.

On your way home or off to work, choose from a variety of products for sell including Bottled Water, Protein Powders, Supplements and Bars.

And, finally to complete your workout, enjoy a complimentary cup of Coffee, Tea, or Water on us.  

Our People

Stevie Long, Certified Professional Fitness Trainer-Master Trainer, NFPT:  Stevie has been a health professional for 28 years and a certified personal trainer for more than 12 years. She is a member of the American College of Sports Medicine, State representative for the National Federation of Professional Trainers, and a judge on the National Physique Committee. Stevie has completed five marathons and is a Champion Natural Bodybuilding Competitor. Her knowledge of health and fitness along with her warm and caring personality make for a powerful combination. Stevie's mission is to push you a little harder than you would push yourself, inspire you, and help you attain your goals, and always with a smile. Teke Long Abshire, Certified Personal Trainer, NFPT, Mat 1 Pilates Certification through Balance Body University:  Certified through the National Federation of Professional Trainers for 9 years now, Teke has maintained a strong physical routine of her own for more than 10 years. In school she actively pursued many athletic sports including cross country/track, softball, cheerleading and gymnastics. Teke thrives on inspiring people of all ages to understand the importance of being healthy for themselves and their loved ones. David Cook, Certified Personal Trainer NFPT:  David graduated from Liberty High School in 1986, and has had a keen interest in fitness since the age of 15 when his brother introduced him to the world of exercise.  David always says that the main reason he became a personal trainer was to help others, and his passion for helping his clients is always apparent though his personal and professional dedication to their lives.  Click here (YouTube Link) to see David working out.

Beth Klimczak, Certified Yoga Instructor:  Beth has been practicing yoga for 8 years and has enjoyed many kinds including Hatha, Ashtanga, Bikram and Power Yoga.  She received her certification in Hatha Yoga in March of this year.  Beth has also enjoyed Pilates, body pump and kick boxing.  Beth's class will take you through a series of floor and standing poses that are designed to enhance your body's performance through developing your core, upper and lower body strength, flexibility, toning and balance while creating a peaceful mind.  Yoga is designed to harmonize the mind and body.  Yoga is appropriate for all ages and fitness levels.

Kelly Stevens, AFAA Certified Group Exercise Instructor: Kelly is a group instructor specializing in cycle and Pilates.  Kelly is currently working towards her Pilates Mat Certification through Balance Body.  Kelly teaches around the Roanoke Vally at multiple locations helping others work toward cardio and core improvement.

Rob Goralewicz, Adjunct Full Professor of Psychology and AFAA Certified Personal Trainer: Rob has been involved in athletics and fitness most of his life having played sports and coached at the high school and collegiate levels.  In addition to personal training, Rob also takes and teaches Karate and has achieved Black Belt levels in both American Free Style and Kempo Karate.  Rob is especially interested in providing training for members age 55+.  Rob has obtained continuing education credits in 2 areas; those being Elder/Senior Fitness and Training for individuals with Arthritis and Osteoporosis.

Jess Nevins, Certified Personal Trainer NFPT:  Jess is a graduate of Mary Baldwin College with a B.S. in Psychology. She was team captain and lead runner for the cross country team all 4 years.  She has also done a variety of community races since college.  Jess loves weight training and running.  She is always anxious to try new things and is excited to help her clients reach their goals.  Jess is also considering a fitness competition in her near future.

Ronny Angell, AFAA Certified Personal Trainer, CHEK Institute Certified Holistic Lifestyle & Nutrition Coach, YMCA Certified Group Exercise Instructor and endurance sports coach:  Ronny started as a NFPT certified personal trainer part time in 2001, while being a fulltime welder, working for Stevie Long at the Roanoke Athletic Club.  In 2005, he became co-owner of Odyssey Adventure Racing, which produces about 14 events a year including the National College Blue Ridge Marathon & Half Marathon.  In 2009, he started Next Level Coaching & Fitness where he designs training programs with endurance athletes.

Rob Smith, AFAA certified Personal Trainer:  Rob has been involved in the fitness field for a few years.  While in the Marine Corps, Rob was the physical training supervisor for his company's physical fitness.  After leaving the Marine Corps, Rob was certified AFAA and trained at the Capitol Club and Tuckahoe YMCA in Richmond.  While working for the YMCA, he was promoted to fitness coordinator and then to fitness director.  Rob really enjoys working on sports specific and functional exercises.
